Why was my card declined at the automated fuel station and the toll road?
VIALET doesn’t support following merchants:
Automated petrol stations
Tolls roads
Such restrictions are in place per various reasons:
Some merchants do not accept our cards.
As a credit card, VIALET card requires merchants to seek online electronic authorisation before taking payment to ensure that transactions only go through when there’s enough balance on the card. Some gas stations and toll road booths are not pre-authorizing the exact amount of the transaction. Instead, they block a security deposit when you first use your card. While it is usually reversed back to your account after few days, in some cases this can take a longer period of time.
You can always pay for these services when they are manned/not automated.
